Homeowner Education, Protection Program for Delta Natural Gas Announced

Winchester, KY – May 23, 2025 – Delta Natural Gas is introducing HomeServe USA to customers. HomeServe educates homeowners about their utility line responsibilities and makes them aware of optional protection for the interior gas lines and water service lines that connect their homes to the utility systems. The coverage is voluntary and administered by HomeServe, not by Delta Natural Gas.

Many homeowners are not aware that they could be responsible for repairs to the interior gas lines and water service lines on their property, and, in the event of a line leak or break, the homeowner is responsible for arranging and paying for the repair.

Repairs to water service lines and internal gas pipes are not covered by Delta Natural Gas, and a basic homeowners insurance policy usually doesn’t cover normal wear-and-tear to these pipes. Homeowners should review their policies and carefully weigh the benefits of this program.

If a participating resident’s pipes need to be repaired, they can call the HomeServe 24-hour hotline to schedule a repair. HomeServe will dispatch a local, reliable and qualified contractor familiar with local code to complete the repair. There are no service fees or deductibles, and covered repairs are guaranteed for one year. This program is voluntary for homeowners, provided at no cost to Delta Natural Gas. There is no obligation for homeowners to participate.
